Master Class I - SA
PIARN hosted the next generation of Australia’s primary industries leaders in South Australia in November in the first of the PIARN Master Class sessions.
Twenty young researchers, consultants, farmers, research managers, extension officers and policy makers from across the primary industries travelled first to South Australia's Barossa Valley and Eyre Peninsula. Participants had the opportunity to learn from leading researchers as well as see the latest science put into practice in the paddock.
With the three-day event based around the theme of 'climate change adaptation in a water constrained world', the group visited large-scale wine makers in the Barossa and innovative farmers on the Eyre Peninsula. A number of key climate change adaptation researchers and leading local figures attended the Master Class, including Dr Peter Hayman from SARDI and Harm van Rees from the Birchip Cropping Group.
A selection of photos from the three-day event are below. Presentations made by a number of invited experts are available at www.piarn.org.au/events/piarn-master-class/SA-presentations.
